Obituaries from 2020




It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of the following (latest obituaries are to be found near the bottom of the screen):



VERA EYLES (known as "Mum") Jackie Tytherleigh's Mum who bowled for many years at Mayford Hall.  Her funeral was held on 3 January at Woking Crematorium.


MAGGIE ROWLAND who bowled at Croydon.  The funeral was on 8th January at Emmanuel Church South Croydon CR2 7AF  followed by a private cremation.


ANNE TAYLOR who was a county player Her funeral will be held on Thursday 12th March 2.15pm.Guildford Crematorium and afterwards. Seahorse, Shalford.


BARBARA LEE who bowled at Ewell BC. She passed on 26th January after a long illness. The funeral was for family members only.


MARGARET COURT who was a county player and who won a Loyal Service Award at Tongham in 2008.


MARGARET WEBB who was a county player at Sutton very suddenly passed away on 24th March.


BARBARA SANDERS who was a Surrey bowler from Chessington who will be sadly missed.


The following ladies from Spring Park Shirley (formerly Shirley Ladies)  have sadly passed


MAVIS SAMPSON died 3rd April

PAM JONES         died 5th April

EILEEN MILLS     died 18 March


We are sad to hear that the following ladies have passed.


JUNE SHAW who was a Johns player and also a County player receiving a Loyal Service Award in 2000. She won the Bookham Ladies Championship on 18 occasions and was their Ladies Captain, honorary Vice-President and Life Member.


JOAN GODLY of Malden Manor (and Manor Park Ladies) who was the County Assistant Secretary 1988 - 1993 and was a County player. She also won a Loyal Service Award in 2003 .




JEAN LANGRIDGE previously the delegate for SOUTHWARK PARK until 2018


STEFFI COTTERELL of TONGHAM who was a county player


DILYS BAILEY of EGHAM who had been a member of Egham (with her husband) since the early 1990's


ANN SULLIVAN a much loved member of Chessington BC, passed away on Sunday 11 October 2020.


MARGARET FIELD died on the 1st of November after a long illness.  She was a long serving member of Woking Park Bowls Club and became President and for many years Ladies Captain. She gained her Surrey Badge and represented Surrey in many matches.


RUTH BULLEN who had been a member of Burpham Bowling Club has sadly died recently. Ruth had also bowled at Wonersh Bowling Club some years ago and also enjoyed playing short mat.


JOAN MARTIN a badged played of Purley Ladies Bowling Club has passed away peacefully on Saturday 12th December aged 99 years.
