Congratulations to Pauline Biddlecombe our BE representative and Southey bowler for completing the Milford Track in New Zealand a journey of 53.5km. She was raising money for the Visually Impaired World Bowls Championships in July 2013 at Worthing and to date has now raised £1,755. (Thanks for all those who have sponsored her).

On reaching New Zealand she had a 2 hours coach journey and 1¼ hours boat trip before starting the walk over 3 nights and 4 days, walking 6 to 8 hours a day in continuous rain as well as sunshine. It included crossing a rope bridge, wading through thigh-high ice cold water and climbing to the top of a 3,500 foot mountain taking the “Emergency Track” for the descent because of previous bad weather.

The Ladies Section of the Surrey Bowls Association wish to convey our sadness at the death of former SCBA President Deric Homes. His funeral took place at Randalls Park Crematorium on Friday 31st May and afterwards at Oxshott BC.
