It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of the following (latest obituaries are to be found near the bottom of the screen):

 

 

BARBARA HANDCOCK of Guildford/Stoke Park who was a county player passed away on New Years Day 2021 and will be sadly missed.

 

VAL DAVIES member of Carshalton Beeches for more than 30 years who transferred to Cheam Fields last year on the demise of Beeches suddenly passed away on 12th January. Val was a regular and enthusiastic competitor in the Surrey competitions.

 

JOAN HENNESSY who had been a member of British Aerospace Byfleet and Guildford clubs before moving out of the county. She had been a Johns Player in Surrey and Hampshire

 

PAM WEAVER of Mytchett a badged player who was a finalist in the county fours in 1995

 

ELIZABETH HURLEY, known to all as Betty passed away on 13th March 2021 aged 90 years. Betty bowled for Epsom Park, Croydon and Sutton bowls clubs. She was at Sutton for many years and was their President between 1999 and 2001.

 

JEAN MILLER, a member of the Burpham Bowling Club for many years, passed away in the early spring of 2021 and will be sadly missed by her friends at the club

 

MARGARET DOCKLEY who had been a member of the Knaphill Bowling Club for many years, passed away peacefully on May 14th 2021.  Margaret who had been the ladies Captain in 2005/2006, had not played for a few years, but had always remained an enthusiastic supporter of the club and she will be sadly missed by the members.

 

BARBARA WEBB who had joined Knaphill Bowling Club in 1988 with her husband Ron, died peacefully on May 8th 2021 in the Princess Christian Homes in Knaphill, where she had lived for some years.  Barbara was known well for her happy and friendly disposition and her love of for the game of Bowls and her friends at the club will hold fond memories of her in their thoughts.

 

JEAN HARVEY passed away 5th July 2021, beloved wife of Derek Harvey. Jean had been unwell for some time, a lovely lady who supported Derek & the County in everything he was involved in. Donations in aid of St Raphael's Hospice in memory of Jean to Rowland Brothers The Broadway Plough Lane CR0 4QR
